Beach Day

I love going to the beach. I love catching waves and playing in the sand and finding sand crabs and climbing the rocks to get to the tide pool and looking at all of the sea life. I love getting to the beach early in the day and staying until it's night and having a fire and getting warmed. Robert's idea of going to the beach would be to own a home that overlooks the beach and then sit out on the porch and read a book so he could have the ambiance of the beach without going into the sand.

While Linda and her family were here, we went down to the beach. As it turned out, almost all of my siblings met us at the beach. Everyone was there except Craig and Connie who happened to be in Hawaii. A lot of the cousins were there too. Mason and Amanda did some boogie boarding and caught some sand crabs and played with their cousins.

Unfortunately, nobody got to the beach early enough to secure a fire pit. So, as it got closer to the evening, someone made the suggestion that we go to Craig and Connie's house and use their fire pit. I think that actually worked out better. Mason and Amanda got to spend time with more of their cousins and my dad came over and had a hot dog and visited. It was a good way to end the week and say good-bye to Linda and Jeff and Kayla and Ciera before they went back to Utah the next day.

Summer has officially started! =)
