Creativity at Work

A couple of weeks ago, Sheila and I went to a Color Me Mine. We had so much fun!! Mason, Amanda, and Rainer went over to the Kalanui's. They had a lot of fun playing with friends and Sheila and I didn't have to worry about kids getting bored or little hands getting into paint and things.

It was so nice to have a relaxing afternoon painting, talking and laughing. Sheila did a vase and painted it using a lace technique. When she was done doing that she then painted a swirly, curly type tree. She did a really great job. I wish I had a picture to show you. Her vase turned out beautifully! Beautiful.

I painted a plate. I've been wanting a "Special" plate for awhile, but I didn't like the wording on the "Red Plates" that you can buy. So, I decided to do one myself. I tried to do the bubble technique, but it didn't turn out nearly as well as I had hoped.

(you can kind of see the bubbles over by the "you")

I still like it, but I am very tempted to go again just so I can redo my plate. (Sheila and Walt, do you want to go with me?!)

My artist, Amanda, was enthralled when I told her about the place. She is dying to go. I will have to take her one of these first days. Mason on the other hand has no desire to go. I asked him, "Would it make you happy if I didn't take you?" His reply, "YES!"

Stay tuned for a part II =).
