Mason is no longer in elementary school--he is now in middle school.
The school had a ceremony and passed out certificates to each kid, then there were refreshments afterwards. Once everything was over, we could check our kid out of the school early and take him home. So even though it was a min. day to begin with (school gets out at 12:30 on min. days), Mason was done with school by 11:30 that day.
Robert and I didn't make a big deal of the promotion ceremony--we'll save that for later when he actually accomplishes something to graduate, but we are very proud of Mason. He is a good kid and has done remarkably well in the DI program.
On to 6th grade! =)

Congratulations Mason. (I'm with you Heidi, about making a big deal when they actually accomplish something.) So is Mason out of the DI program now? Will he take Spanish in Middle School? How will he keep up with his language accomplishments?
ReplyDeleteHave fun in middle school Mason!
ReplyDeleteDitto to what my mom said. I always thought these "promotions" were so silly!
Yay, Mason!!! Wow Heidi, you have an almost teenager - how'd that happen?!
ReplyDeleteOh, and ditto for me too.
