Labor Day

We had a wonderful Labor Day holiday. We started it off on Saturday when Gerry (Robert's dad) came over. We love it when he comes over because we always have a wonderful BBQ. He bought Porterhouse and New York strip steaks. We had shrimp and onion rings and french fries and corn on the cob and garlic bread and then when we thought we couldn't eat any more, we had ice cream and root beer floats. We love visiting with Grandpa and it was a good way to start off the holiday weekend.

Monday afternoon we went over to Craig and Connie's to finish off the holiday weekend. We had a great time (after a slight detour of part of the tread coming off of one of our tires).

The kids went swimming.

(Mason is the one doing the trick off of the diving board.)

(Not to be out done by her brother, here is Amanda.)

When the kids weren't in the pool, they were on the trampoline jumping and goofing off.

Rainer, of course, went around looking cute with his brand new haircut, courtesy of Aunt Sharon Kaye.

We also played a bit of pool.

I don't think any of us, with the possible exception of my Dad, were any good, but we had fun playing. My Dad won the game he played with me--I still had three ball left on the table =).

My Dad also worked on his daily crossword with Nancy.

And of course there was wonderful food.

We had a lot of fun and the kids were sad when we told them we had to leave--they would have been happy to stay late into the night, but we still had a ways to travel to get back home and get them into bed at a decent hour so that they would be alert for school. We love family get togethers.
