Halloween

Halloween has come and gone, but we still had fun.

The kids love carving out their own pumpkins and look forward to it each year. They each make up their own designs and carve it out themselves.

I help with the finer points of getting all the pumpkin guts out, but they mostly do all of it themselves. Rainer loved just playing in all of the seeds and guts and swirling it around.

Here are the finished jack-o-lanterns. You probably can't see, but Rainer even did his pumpkin himself. It is mostly a series of stabs, but he did make some big cuts too.

For the Halloween party, Mason went as a Sith type person (I think), Amanda was a cat, and Rainer went as Superman, complete with cape.

We went to the party at the church. It was a good party. We had dinner there and there were plenty of rooms to trick-or-treat and lots of games. Here's Rainer showing us how much candy he has in his bucket.

It didn't take Rainer long to realize how special the words "trick-or-treat" were. Every time he said it, someone put candy in his bucket! How awesome is that!

They had all sorts of games for the kids to play and they each had varying degrees of difficulty to accommodate all of the different ages. After each game the kids got a piece of candy.

Rainer wanted us to know that he had gotten a lot of candy.

Mason and Amanda had fun playing this one game. And I think they did a good job at it.

By the end of the night, their buckets were full of candy and they were ready to go home. The party was very organized and we are happy that we went.
