Somehow we ended up with three Christmas trees this year.
This is our little 4ft. tree that we have had for years and years. Nancy and I got it one year on Black Friday (back when we still did that).
This year we decorated it with homemade ornaments that the kids and I made out of dough. They really had a great time. Once they were baked, we painted them and then shellacked them. We don't have a star for this tree, so I made one out of paper. This is our 6ft. tree that we got off of Craig's List.
It has red velvet bows, silvery ribbon, and silver beads. This is my elegant looking tree. And this is the tree that the ward gave us.
Our Bishop called to see if we had a tree. We told him that we did--we have two. But he wanted to know if we had a real tree. Well, we didn't have a real tree, but we certainly weren't lacking. Within five minutes of him calling, this beautiful tree was on our doorstep. This picture doesn't even do it justice. Everybody who comes into our home comments on how beautiful this tree is. We put all of the kids' ornaments that they have received from their Grandma over the years on this tree as well as the ornaments from when we used to do live Christmas trees. We are very grateful for this generous gift. There is just something about having a live Christmas tree, and the scent of pine that adds a little something extra to the Christmas season.
