Amanda is so happy to be eight--for more than one reason. She loves that she now gets to do Activity Days. She would watch Mason do Cub Scouts and wish that she could do fun activities too. Well, now she gets to. Thursday was the mother/daughter dinner and since it is almost St. Patrick's Day, the theme was Irish. It was a potluck style dinner and all of the girls were asked to bring either an Irish side dish or main dish. We took Irish Soda Bread and it was really yummy.
There were games and activities and I got so caught up in having fun that I forgot to take pictures =). One of the activities was to make
shrinky dink shamrock pins. None of the girls knew what
shrinky dinks were, but all of the mothers remembered making them when they were younger.

Amanda really had fun making them and now she wants me to get our own supplies of
shrinky dink plastic so she can make more.
This is Amanda's creation,
and this is mine.

We had so much fun and we are so glad we went. We are looking forward to more fun activities.
I forgot about shrinky dinks! I loved those! Looks like it was a fun night.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Amanada is having such a great time with activity days.
