Easter Egg Hunts

Here in our town, a group of the local churches get together and put on an Easter event. So yesterday was the 17th annual citywide Easter Egg hunt. We have done this in years past, but this year was the best organized.

Rainer was excited.

Mason was not as excited. He took some convincing to even get him to participate. But in the end he said he was glad he did it. This year, Mason and Amanda were in the same age group, even though once the hunt started they were all over the place.

There were a lot of other things going on as well. There were egg races, bounce houses, and one local church even set up a petting zoo with ducks, turkeys, bunnies, sheep, goats, and a Shetland pony.

Here is a short video of all the excitement. The last part of the video was here at our house on Easter morning. Amanda is wearing the yellow visor and Mason is wearing a gray cap and bright blue shirt. If you have good eyes, you can pick them out in the crowd.

In the past at our house, we have always tried to take turns finding eggs to make sure that it all balanced out. As you will see, this year, not so much.

While it was all fun, it was nice to have conference this year on Easter to remind us all of what the real reason for the day is and what we are celebrating. It is the Savior and His atonement and resurrection that makes all the family fun worthwhile and provides the way for our family to continue on forever.
