Family Portrait Time

It is about that time. About a month ago we went and had our annual family portrait done. We were not impressed at all with the lady doing the pictures and even though Rainer is not smiling in this picture, it was the best one we had. In every other picture taken, Tanner was leaning off at about a 45 degree angle. You would think the photographer would have stopped and said, hey, your baby looks like he's about to fall over, but no, she just kept snapping away and taking worthless pictures. We could have walked on the session, but as the family grows, so does the amount of work it takes to get this done, so we kind of settled. Heidi thinks that the picture more accurately reflects Rainer's personality at the moment. I don't necessarily agree, but what do I know. So here is the picture we settled on.

Now when they do the portraits they always take a bunch of extra ones to try and upsell you. We never bite. In many of the past years, all we have gotten was one 8x10. These days, some of the package prices are cheaper than individual sheets so we do that. This year we got emailed a coupon for a discounted sheet and out of curiosity I logged onto the website to see what else there was from the session. Because we never buy anything extra we usually never even look at any of the other pictures. This year I found this picture in the set and it was too good to pass up, so we paid for a single 8x10 to put on the wall.

This picture almost makes up for all the horrible family pictures the photographer took -- almost. Anyway, we are glad we found it because how often do you get all four children with real smiles and all at the same time?

  1. I hate when the photographer doesn't tell you stuff like that! Isn't that their job?!

And I LOVE the picture of the kids! It's perfect!
